Dr. Ian and Dr. Chris, are knowledgeable and experienced beyond just spinal and chiropractic adjustments. The purpose of spinal adjustments is to return the spine to a natural state of health and movement. We reduce back pain, neck pain, muscle spasms, and nerve irritation, so you can enjoy your life pain free. Chiropractic manipulation of the body structures, such as the joint of the spine, corrects and restores proper movement within motion segments. Chiropractic treatment is effective for relieving muscle spasms of the back and neck, many types of headaches including tension and migraines. When combined with our bio-mechanical approach, we effectively treat musculoskeletal issues involving the joints and tissues of the upper and lower extremities, including arthritis and many inflammatory diseases. We take a functional approach to maintaining your health.

Active Release Technique, or ART, is a patented state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. ART entails identifying, isolating and targeting the effected area to break up scar tissue. This promotes blood flow and faster healing of injuries, even from overuse. Is your ART Provider certified to do this work on you? Ours is!
How do overuse conditions occur?
Over-used muscles (and other soft tissues) change in three important ways:
Each of these factors can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendinitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. If a nerve is trapped you may also feel tingling, numbness, and weakness.
Graston is a soft tissue instrument treatment for back pain and neck pain performed by our Chiropractor which aims to decrease muscle soreness and eliminate trigger points within the muscle. The treatment is administered with stainless steel instruments and treats tissue fibrosis and chronic tissue inflammation. This technique is widely used among professional and recreational athletes. Graston allows for increased freedom of movement and a decrease in chronic muscle tightness and chronic muscle fatigue.
Sports medicine and physical therapy practices often use cold laser therapy in the treatment of minor injuries and sprains, such as: ligament sprains, muscle strains and pain associated with muscle spasms. We use a therapeutic laser (also called a cold laser) to reach the source of your pain (anywhere from back pain, neck pain and extremities) deep beneath the skin. The light wavelengths from the laser penetrate deep tissue to reduce inflammation, decrease scar tissue and increase blood flow. Not only does laser treatment performed by a Chiropractor promote healing, but it does so without side effects and pain. The treatment is non invasive and is done in a few minutes time in our office.
Functional Movement Technique integrates innovative mobility and stability strategies along with a movement based, practical kinesiology taping framework done by a Chiropractor. Kinesiology Tape speeds healing by slightly lifting skin away from sore or injured tissues, improving blood flow and lymphatic drainage, and adding extra support to injured joints and muscles without impending range of motion. FMT Kinesiology Tape Certification enhances human movement and performance via functional taping methods and can also be used to help decrease pain and muscle spasms that may occur after injury. Movement screening is used to determine dysfunction in specific anatomical planes of motion and allows us to apply tape in a manner that improves movement and function.
Rock Pods unlock myofascial manipulation with versatile and easy to use silicone pods. These unique pods allow us to grab, pull and push fascia to treat mobility and movement dysfunctions.
We use RockTape for Kinesiology Taping at Peninsula Chiropractic Group.
RockTape is the world’s best kinesiology tape used by Chiropractors. It can be used to treat sports and non-sports injuries, including shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and runner's knee. It also is used on every day pain areas such as neck pain, back pain and for posture!
RockTape microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscle and fascia below, creating a decompression effect. Stretchier, stickier and stronger than the competition, RockTape is preferred by athletes and medical professionals throughout the world.
Key benefits of using RockTape:
Creating suction and negative pressure, cupping is used to release tight muscles, and release scar and connective tissue, Cupping also increases hydration and blood flow, while draining toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.
Cupping has also been known as a recovery method for elite athletes such as Micheal Phelps, used to relieve tension in their backs, shoulders and muscles. The technique relies on suction cups that pull the skin back and loosen muscles and tendons, unlike a massage where they would be pressed.
Do you have 5 minutes and want to try Cupping at no charge?
We have open tables just for Cupping!
